Kwankwaso Urges Tinubu to Preserve Nigeria's Democracy

Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the Vice Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to preserve Nigeria's democracy by allowing opposition parties to operate freely. Speaking in Ibadan at the South West Stakeholders Conference and the inauguration of the Oyo State Executive and South West Zonal Executive of the Pro – Obi/ Kwankwaso Presidential Support Group, Kwankwaso, represented by Hon. Muktar Umar Zakari, stressed the importance of independent democratic institutions, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Judiciary, and security agencies.

He expressed concerns that President Tinubu has created obstacles for opposition parties, suggesting that he aims to limit electoral participation to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Kwankwaso urged the electorate to vote wisely and resist being swayed by material gifts, citing instances of politicians distributing rice to influence voters.

He called for a legacy of democracy that Nigerians can be proud of, emphasizing the need for viable opposition.
