PDP Candidate Opposes Outsider for Ogun Governorship

Adeoye Adeniran, the PDP candidate for Ogun State House of Assembly representing Abeokuta South Constituency 2, stated that while the aspiration of the Yewa-Awori people to produce the next governor is legitimate, residents of Ogun State will resist any attempt to impose an outsider. His comments followed the Olota of Ota, Oba Adeyemi Obalanlege, reaffirming support for Senator Solomon Adeola as the preferred candidate for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.

Adeniran warned against electing a "non-indigene with identity crisis or a proxy sent from Lagos," asserting that leadership should be based on credibility and genuine connection to the people. He highlighted the need for the electorate to determine their governor rather than relying solely on endorsements from traditional rulers.

Additionally, the Palace of the Olofin Adimula Oodua of Ado-Odo clarified that the Olota's position does not represent all Awori traditional rulers, emphasizing the importance of diverse political choices in Ogun State.
