Ekiti PDP, APM Unite for Makinde's 2027 Presidential Bid

Ahead of the 2027 general election, stakeholders from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ekiti State have initiated grassroots mobilization to support Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde's presidential aspiration. The stakeholders, representing all 16 local government areas, gathered for an advocacy and campaign awareness program led by PDP chieftain Mrs. Lanre Fajuyi.

The event, termed ‘APM Awareness Campaign,’ aimed to sensitize members, youths, women, and artisans about strengthening the PDP-APM alliance to back Makinde's presidential bid. Makinde has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election under the APM platform, positioning the alliance as a viable opposition coalition against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Fajuyi emphasized the need for a government that serves the masses and promotes democratic governance. Chief Sanya Atofarati, the South-west PDP/APM spokesperson, noted that the alliance is essential for preserving multi-party democracy and providing a strong opposition ahead of the elections.
