OK Movement Rejects Merger Ahead of 2027 Elections

The OK Movement, a political platform supporting the joint presidential ticket under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has officially rejected any merger with outside political organizations in preparation for the 2027 general elections. This decision was made during a national leadership summit held in Abuja, which included national leaders, state coordinators, and ward-level mobilizers from all 36 states.

The communiqué was signed by Convener Ladipo Johnson and National Secretary Sadaatu Sani. Johnson, who is also the NDC's Lagos Central senatorial candidate, warned that any externally imposed consolidation could disrupt ongoing programs and erode the movement's identity.

The group also addressed rumors regarding the removal of its founder and Director-General, John Ughulu, stating that such an action could lead to the collapse of their grassroots network. Additionally, the summit extended an invitation to Ms Jacky Wayas to return as Director for Strategic Implementation and Planning, and appointed Prince Suleiman Abubakar as Deputy Director-General (North).
