Peter Obi Unveils Dual Result Transmission Plan for 2027

Peter Obi, the National Democratic Congress presidential candidate for the 2027 election, revealed his intention to implement a dual result transmission system during an exclusive interview on Arise TV. This system aims to independently transmit election results from polling units to his team's situation room, allowing for real-time monitoring of results as they are recorded.

Obi emphasized that this arrangement would work in conjunction with the official result transmission by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He stated the importance of accurate counting and recording of votes at every polling unit, asserting that the dual transmission would ensure transparency.

Obi clarified that this initiative does not constitute a parallel result-transmission system, as it is designed to prevent discrepancies in results announced that do not originate from polling units. He expressed confidence in achieving a transparent election, citing examples from Ghana and framing the upcoming election as a contest between Nigerians and the government rather than merely a political party competition.
