APC Protests Non-Consultation for First Lady's Visit

The visit of Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady and wife of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, to Anambra State has sparked controversy due to a protest from Senator Emma Anosike, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. Anosike criticized the failure to inform the APC about the visit, stating it was surprising that the First Lady would come to Anambra without consulting the party leadership.

He asserted, “The party wishes to state categorically that we are not part of the arrangements for the reception of our First Lady Sen Oluremi Tinubu because the party was never put in the picture.” Anosike also dismissed the slogan “The Progressives Are Working Together” promoted by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), calling it a facade to undermine the APC's influence in the state. Despite the protest, he urged APC members to welcome Senator Oluremi Tinubu during her visit.
