Atiku Abubakar: 2027 Election Will Be My Last Attempt

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declared that the 2027 presidential election will be his last attempt at the presidency, regardless of the outcome. During a Hausa-language interview on Wednesday, he stated, “No, I have said it before, right from this election, I will not contest again.” He encouraged Nigerians with Permanent Voter Cards to actively participate in the election, emphasizing the importance of not only voting but also staying at polling units to ensure votes are counted accurately.

Atiku dismissed health concerns regarding his ability to govern, asserting that no doctor has declared him unfit. He criticized the handling of funds from the removal of the oil subsidy, questioning their allocation and promising to reinstate the subsidy if elected.

He argued that the funds should have been used to address poverty and improve education, stating, “Where is the money now? It seems they are just stealing it.”.
