Doherty Unveils 10-Point Agenda for Lagos Governorship Bid

Engr. Adedeji Doherty, the current vice chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for the South West, has declared his intention to run for governor of Lagos State in the 2027 elections.

This marks his fourth attempt at the gubernatorial position. During a press conference in Abuja, he outlined a 10-point agenda aimed at addressing key issues in Lagos, which has a population of approximately 25 million residents and nearly 13 million registered voters.

Doherty emphasized the need for a new generation of hospitals, improved security architecture across the South West, and economic revitalization, positioning Lagos as the financial hub of Nigeria. He criticized the current administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asserting that Lagos's development is not directly tied to the federal government’s actions.

Doherty, who has a background as a businessman and entrepreneur, expressed determination to engage youth and bring about significant changes in governance.
