PDP Candidate Doherty Promises New Direction for Lagos

Engin Adedeji Doherty, the gubernatorial candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, declared his intention to provide a new direction for the state in the upcoming 2027 elections. During a media briefing in Abuja, he emphasized his commitment to addressing key issues such as education, security, healthcare, and youth empowerment.

Doherty, who has been a loyal member of the PDP for over two decades, expressed confidence in the party's ability to offer Lagosians a credible alternative. He outlined a 10-point agenda that includes improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security, while also addressing the power supply and economic challenges facing the state.

He pledged to collaborate with neighboring states to combat insecurity and proposed the use of modern technology, including drone surveillance, to enhance security operations. Doherty's experience as an entrepreneur and industrialist positions him to understand and tackle the challenges faced by businesses and residents in Lagos, which he described as Nigeria's economic hub.
