Kogi Sets N150M Campaign Fee for Presidential Candidates

The Kogi State Government has established official fees for campaign signage and materials ahead of the 2027 general elections and the October 2026 local government elections. Hon.

Kingsley Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, announced these fees during a stakeholders' meeting in Lokoja on Tuesday. The fees are intended to regulate political advertising, ensure compliance with existing signage regulations, and generate revenue for the development of Kogi State.

Presidential candidates will be charged N150 million for campaign signage, while senatorial candidates will pay N50 million. Candidates for the House of Representatives will incur a fee of N30 million, and those contesting for the state House of Assembly will pay N5 million.

For local government elections, chairmanship candidates will pay N2 million, and councillorship candidates will pay N300,000. The fee structure was determined after a peer review of similar fees in other states.
