Taraba Governor Kefas Selects APC Women Leader as Running Mate

On a recent announcement in Jalingo, Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas revealed that he has chosen Hajiya Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim, the national women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as his running mate for the 2027 governorship race. This decision comes as a replacement for the current deputy governor, Aminu Abdullahi Alkali, who is reportedly facing serious health challenges that have affected his ability to perform official functions.

Governor Kefas praised Ibrahim for her loyalty to the party and her role as a bridge-builder and tireless advocate for vulnerable groups. He emphasized that her political experience would perfectly complement his administration's development agenda.

Hajiya Aisha Kaigama, the Taraba State APC women leader, commended the governor's decision, highlighting the importance of gender balance in Northeast politics. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is expected to unveil details regarding the upcoming elections next month.
