PBAT Movement Defends Tinubu Against Atiku's Criticism

The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement 2027 has responded to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar's criticism of President Bola Tinubu's three-week vacation in Europe, which began on Sunday. Atiku, the African Democratic Congress presidential candidate, questioned the timing of the vacation amid Nigeria's economic challenges, labeling it a "disturbing vacuum of political leadership." In a statement from the movement's National Coordinator, Sunday Asuku, they argued that Atiku's comments were an attempt to politicize Tinubu's routine annual leave, emphasizing that the country has functioning institutions to maintain governance.

They also criticized Atiku for his inconsistent stance on the petrol subsidy policy, recalling his 2023 campaign promise to remove it, contrasting it with his current advocacy for its restoration. The group urged Atiku to present a clear political program for the upcoming 2027 elections instead of attacking Tinubu, whom they described as a leader entitled to vacation.
