Dele Momodu: Peter Obi Declines Atiku's 2027 Offer

Dele Momodu, a veteran journalist and media entrepreneur, disclosed that Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, turned down a suggestion to collaborate with Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, in preparation for the 2027 political battle. During an interview on the Naija Unfiltered podcast, Momodu reflected on Obi's political relationships and emphasized that Obi believes he has a stronger political following than Atiku.

He recounted how Atiku played a significant role in bringing Obi to national prominence when he selected him as his running mate in the 2019 presidential election. Momodu attempted to convince Obi to reconsider the political arrangement, citing examples of leaders from other countries who successfully transitioned from deputy roles to the presidency.

However, Obi remained unconvinced, stating his belief in his popularity compared to Atiku.
