ICPC Urges INEC Officers to Ensure Election Integrity

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has tasked electoral officers of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to uphold the highest standards of responsibility and accountability in preparation for the 2027 general elections. This charge was delivered by ICPC Chairman Dr.

Musa Adamu Aliyu during a two-day anti-corruption sensitization workshop held at INEC headquarters in Abuja. The workshop, themed "Corruption-Free Elections: Integrity Matters," aimed to enhance the integrity of the electoral process.

Dr. Aliyu noted that compromised electoral processes due to corruption could lead to costly supplementary polls and erode public confidence in democratic institutions.

He commended INEC for approving the sensitization program and urged electoral officers to remain steadfast in their commitment to ethical values. The workshop included presentations on the risks of legal ramifications and conflicts of interest within Nigeria's electoral framework, emphasizing the need for integrity and ethical conduct among electoral officials.
