Jigawa PDP Forms 45-Member Campaign Council for 2027

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State has established a 45-member campaign council in preparation for the 2027 governorship election, with Mustapha Lamido appointed as chairman. Lamido announced the formation of the council in a statement from Dutse, the state capital, on Friday night.

The council's primary role will be to coordinate the party's mobilization efforts across all 27 local government areas in Jigawa State. Inuwa Tahir has been named deputy chairman, while Senator Mustapha Khabeeb will serve as Vice Chairman I for Jigawa Central.

Other vice chairmen include Ambassador Ibrahim Kazaure for the North-West and Yusuf Dunari for the North-East. The council comprises notable figures such as former Inspector-General of Police Suleiman Abba and various serving and former lawmakers.

Additionally, a campaign directorate has been established, with Shehu Liman Wan as Director-General and Nasir Mohammed as secretary. Lamido expressed confidence in the team's ability to lead the PDP to victory in the upcoming election.
