Kebbi Governor Urges FG to Alleviate Economic Hardship

Comrade Nasir Idris, the Kebbi State Governor, called on the Federal Government to expand interventions aimed at reducing the economic hardships faced by Nigerians, particularly concerning food products, transportation, and support for small businesses and rural livelihoods. During a meeting in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday, Idris, who is seeking re-election under the Progressive Congress (APC), emphasized the importance of the Federal Government's support in improving performance at the state level.

He stated that the government must provide reasons for Nigerians to believe in their efforts and deliver visible results. Idris committed to taking bold actions in agriculture, food security, rural development, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment.

He noted that 16 first-term governors attended the meeting, while four governors seeking a second term were absent. Idris stressed that the challenges facing the country extend beyond elections and highlighted priorities such as protecting democracy, improving security, boosting food production, creating jobs for young people, and ensuring long-term prosperity for Nigerians.
