Kwara ADC Prepares for 2027 Elections, Rejects Intimidation

The Kwara State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has publicly declared its readiness for the 2027 general elections, emphasizing that it will not be intimidated by any adversarial judicial actions that may seek to prevent its participation. This stance was articulated in a statement issued on Wednesday, following a meeting of the state executive committee held at the party's secretariat in Ilorin.

State chairman Babatunde Muham expressed confidence in the ADC's chances in the upcoming electoral cycle, stating that the party remains focused on securing victory. He asserted that no level of intimidation or judicial misconduct would deter the ADC from contesting and emerging victorious.

The party's position comes amid ongoing legal disputes regarding its political status, particularly following a Federal High Court judgment that ordered the deregistration of four political parties, including the ADC. However, the ADC commended the Court of Appeal for intervening in the matter, reinforcing confidence in the democratic process.

The party called for unity among its members and urged intensified grassroots mobilization ahead of the elections.
