Kwara APC Faction Endorses Tinubu, Rejects Primary Candidates

The Oto Ge Progressives (T.O.P.), a faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara, publicly endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid for the 2027 presidential election during a town hall meeting in Ilorin on Thursday. The group, represented by former governorship aspirant and ex-Senator Yahaya Oloriegbe, rejected all candidates produced from the party's recent primary elections, claiming they were imposed by a single individual.

Oloriegbe stated that the group remains loyal to President Tinubu and promised to deliver more votes than in the 2023 election. The T.O.P. criticized the emergence of unpopular candidates and called for a credible and democratic electoral process, warning that the party's unity and electoral prospects could be jeopardized if the dissatisfaction among members is not addressed.

They also reported instances of intimidation and inducements aimed at securing loyalty from members, emphasizing the need for a transparent process in Kwara politics.
