Labour Party Names Hajja Konto as VP Candidate for 2027

The Labour Party has officially announced Hajja Bintu Konto as its vice presidential candidate for the 2027 elections. She will run alongside the party's presidential candidate, Dr.

Chibuzo Okereke. The announcement was made in a statement signed by Ken Eluma Asogwa, the party's national publicity secretary.

This decision follows extensive consultations across critical stakeholders within the party, reflecting its unwavering commitment to presenting a Nigerian ticket that embodies competence, integrity, inclusiveness, and patriotism. Hajja Konto is a public health specialist with a master's degree in public health and serves as a lecturer in community health.

She is currently a member of the country coordinating mechanism for the Global Fund Nigeria and is affiliated with several professional organizations, including those focused on malaria control and nutrition.
