Labour Party Nominates Hajja Konto for VP in 2027 Elections

The Labour Party (LP) has officially nominated Hajja Bintu Konto as its vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, where she will run alongside the party's presidential candidate, Dr. Chibuzo Okereke. The decision was made during a meeting on Saturday, following extensive consultations with various stakeholders across the country.

Hajja Konto has a distinguished career in healthcare and humanitarian services, having served in multiple leadership roles across Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states. She has been involved in community leadership and humanitarian support, particularly through her work with Catholic Relief Services.

Konto holds a master's degree in public health and has contributed significantly to training future health professionals. Currently, she is a member of the Country Coordinating Mechanism for the Global Fund in Nigeria.

Her nomination reflects the Labour Party's commitment to gender inclusivity and aims to address development challenges affecting women and children in rural communities.
