Makinde and Obi Push for Opposition Unity Against APC

On Monday, Seyi Makinde, the presidential candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), inaugurated his campaign office in Abuja, focusing on the necessity of opposition unity to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections. Peter Obi, the candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and former governor of Anambra State, attended the event, expressing solidarity and commitment to support any opposition candidate who emerges victorious in the upcoming elections.

Makinde's campaign, branded "Reset Nigeria," seeks to involve Nigerians in shaping the future of the country. He articulated his stance on petroleum pricing, clarifying that he does not advocate for the return of fuel subsidy, but rather for a pricing system that benefits Nigerians directly.

He called for transparency in the petroleum value chain and emphasized the need for accountability in governance. The event was attended by notable figures, including Senator Bala Mohammed and Oyo State Deputy Governor Adebayo Adeleke Lawal.
