Obi Advocates Unity at APM Campaign Office Launch

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the NDC and former Labour Party flagbearer, attended the commissioning of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) Presidential Campaign Office in Abuja on an unspecified date. He was joined by Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, and the Governor of Bauchi State, who serves as APM's leader.

During his remarks, Obi, ratified as the NDC's presidential candidate on May 29, 2026, called for unity and decency in the political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections. He stressed the importance of building a political environment anchored on unity, love, justice, mutual respect, and inclusion, especially as political competition risks becoming divisive.

Obi urged all presidential hopefuls for 2027 to focus their campaigns on addressing pressing challenges such as insecurity, poverty, hunger, inequality, and the rising number of out-of-school children. He concluded by congratulating Makinde and APM's leadership on what he described as an important milestone for the party, reflecting his message of cross-party civility as the campaign season intensifies.
