APM Endorses Seyi Makinde for 2027 Presidential Race

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has called on other opposition parties in Nigeria to support its presidential candidate, Seyi Makinde, for the 2027 elections. This announcement was made on Monday by the APM's National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, amid efforts by opposition leaders to select a unified candidate to challenge President Bola Tinubu.

The G-100 political pressure group is facilitating discussions, with a meeting scheduled for August 31. Yusuf stated that Makinde is the strongest candidate to defeat Tinubu, urging other aspirants to prioritize collective interests over personal ambitions.

He highlighted Makinde's governance in Oyo State, his appeal among youth and professionals, and his proposed solutions to Nigeria's security and economic challenges. Yusuf asserted that the desire for a new leadership direction is prevalent among Nigerians, and he emphasized the importance of opposition unity in the upcoming elections.
