NDC's Ominimini Blames Delta Governor for Attack on Supporters

Dr. Obiuwevbi Ominimini, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) House of Representatives candidate for Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency, accused Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of orchestrating an attack on NDC supporters during a campaign rally in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area. The incident occurred during a campaign procession named the ‘1,000,000-Man March for NDC Candidates, 5-over-5’.

Ominimini alleged that armed thugs disrupted the peaceful march and assaulted party members, describing the attack as a calculated effort to intimidate NDC supporters and undermine the party's campaign ahead of the elections. He held Governor Oborevwori and the APC accountable for mobilizing the thugs and called the incident an assault on democracy.

Ominimini urged security agencies to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice while assuring party members of their commitment to continue campaigning peacefully across Delta State. As of the report's filing, there had been no official response from the Delta State Government or the APC regarding the allegations.
