NDC Denies Misuse of Funds Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) issued a statement on Tuesday, denying allegations that donations and levies collected from aspirants for the 2027 general elections were misappropriated. Osa Director, the NDC's National Publicity Secretary, stated that all funds were deposited into the party's designated account and managed by the appropriate party organs.

The NDC characterized the allegations as a campaign of misinformation from disgruntled individuals. As a party without elected officials, the NDC has sought financial support from members and stakeholders to sustain its operations.

Director emphasized that all contributions were documented, and Senator Seriake Dickson, the NDC National Leader, did not personally demand or receive funds from aspirants. The NDC plans to provide a full account of its finances in accordance with the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines.

The party underscored the importance of voluntary contributions for building a national structure and fielding candidates across Nigeria.
