Benue Commissioner Critiques Peter Obi's Visit Protocol

Solomon Iorpev, the Benue State Commissioner for Information, has accused Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, of courting trouble with the state government by failing to follow proper protocol during his visit. Iorpev noted that this was not the first instance of Obi neglecting to inform the state government about his arrival, which is particularly concerning given Obi's status as a former governor.

He emphasized that high-profile individuals like Obi should formally notify the state to ensure their safety and protection. The commissioner expressed regret over the blockage of Obi's route by some youths, which coincided with a meeting of youths from the 23 local government areas of the state.

Although he did not know the individuals responsible for the blockage, he described the situation as unfortunate and reiterated that the state is known for its hospitality.
