NDC Denies La’ah's Governorship Ticket for 2027 Election

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially disowned a purported governorship ticket for Danjuma La’ah ahead of the 2027 Kaduna State governorship election. Alhaji Sidi Abdul Bomi, the party’s Deputy National Chairman for the North, clarified in a telephone interview that the document circulating on social media is false and did not originate from the party.

This statement comes amid a dispute over the party's nomination, with Mohammed Abbas asserting his position as the legitimate candidate. Abbas confirmed that he obtained the NDC governorship nomination form, underwent screening, and participated in the primary election, which he claims he won.

He emphasized that La’ah did not participate in the primaries and was not screened, questioning how he could be awarded the ticket. Abbas also mentioned that he was instrumental in La’ah's entry into the NDC, indicating that La’ah initially sought a senatorial seat rather than the governorship.
