NDC Confirms Governorship Candidates for 2027 Elections

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has clarified reports suggesting it has no governorship candidates in 12 states ahead of the 2027 general elections. Osa Director, the NDC National Publicity Secretary, issued a statement on Saturday asserting that the party has nominated candidates in all 28 states where elections will be held.

The NDC emphasized its status as a national movement, not a regional party, with structures and candidates across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. To counter the claims, the party released a list of its governorship candidates in the 12 states, which includes Senator Kabiru Marafa for Zamfara, Rtd Rear Admiral Ibrahim Sanusi Kasim for Borno, Hon. John Odey for Cross River, and others in various states.

The NDC urged media professionals to verify information before publication and reiterated its commitment to issue-based politics, dismissing the reports as sponsored falsehoods.
