NDC Leader Dickson Confirms Participation in 2027 Elections

Seriak Dickson, the leader of the Nigerian Democratic Coalition (NDC), declared that the party will participate in the 2027 general elections, despite a recent court ruling that questioned aspects of its registration. In an interview with Channels TV, Dickson dismissed claims regarding the ownership of the NDC's symbol, arguing that the party followed due process in its registration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He stated that the court's reliance on constitutional principles of fair hearing was misapplied and that the NDC had disclosed all relevant facts to the court. Dickson criticized attempts by rival political interests to exploit the court system to weaken opposition parties ahead of the elections.

He emphasized that the NDC has already concluded its candidate nominations and is prepared to engage in the electoral process, asserting that the party's logo is legally recognized and that it will be on the ballot.
