Iroegbu Warns of Revolution if NDC Excluded from 2027 Ballot

Dickson Iroegbu, a human rights activist, issued a warning about a possible revolution in Nigeria if the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is excluded from the ballot in the upcoming 2027 general elections. Iroegbu made these statements during an interview on the Mic Podcast with Seun Okinbaloy on Saturday night.

His comments came in the wake of a ruling by the Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, which directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the NDC as a political party. Iroegbu urged INEC to be cautious and avoid any glitches that could prevent the NDC from participating in the elections.

He emphasized that the electoral body would shock the Nigerian populace if it attempted to sideline the NDC, which he believes would lead to anarchy. He also mentioned that the NDC's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, would challenge the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by Bola Tinubu, in the 2027 elections.
