NNPP to Field Candidates for 90% of 2027 Elections

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) announced its intention to field candidates for over 90% of all elective positions in the upcoming 2027 general elections, despite facing delays due to litigation. Boniface Aniebonam, the founder of the party, made this statement during a press briefing in Lagos following an emergency National Working Committee meeting held at the Rockview Hotel in Apapa.

Aniebonam indicated that the NNPP is open to forming strategic alliances with other political parties that share similar interests and ideologies. He clarified that the party does not plan to zone its presidential ticket, arguing that zoning is applicable only to parties that have previously contested and won the presidency.

Aniebonam also mentioned that the NNPP would hold a non-elective convention before the end of August to facilitate inclusive decision-making among its members. He urged former members who left due to internal leadership issues to return as the party prepares to replace placeholders.
