NNPP Uploads Placeholder Presidential Candidate for 2027

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) announced on Tuesday that it has uploaded a placeholder presidential candidate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal as part of its preparations for the 2027 general elections. This action aligns with electoral guidelines and aims to restore the party's original logo on the INEC portal, which had been replaced by a disputed emblem.

Dr. Major Agbo, the party's national chairman, confirmed that the party has completed the upload of its national assembly candidates, including placeholders, across the country despite time constraints due to late recognition of the party's legitimate leadership. A total of 355 national assembly candidates have been uploaded, and the process for governorship and state house assembly candidates is set to commence, with a deadline of August 8, 2026.

Agbo refrained from disclosing the identity of the placeholder presidential candidate but emphasized the importance of strengthening the party's structure and membership base in preparation for the upcoming elections.
