Sheriff: Northerners Won't Vote for Peter Obi in 2027

In a recent statement, Sheriff asserted that Northerners will not support Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election, referencing Obi's previous governance in Anambra State. Sheriff mentioned that Obi had substantial support in Plateau and Nasarawa states during the 2023 elections but indicated that circumstances have changed.

He claimed that the political alliance involving Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso would not gain traction, as Kwankwaso's supporters would continue to back him. Sheriff defended President Bola Tinubu's handling of the country's security challenges against Obi's criticisms, arguing that Tinubu's administration has made efforts to improve security, including the introduction of state police.

He also expressed confidence that Tinubu would be re-elected in 2027 and dismissed the chances of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who is expected to contest on the platform of the African Democratic Congress, stating that the presidency should remain in the South until 2031.
