Northerners Should Allow Tinubu to Complete Tenure

Hon. Sadiq Mamman-Lagos, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, has called on Northerners to permit President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to complete his eight-year tenure, asserting that it is the turn of the South-West to produce the next president. In an interview, Mamman-Lagos urged Northern politicians to refrain from seeking to unseat Tinubu in 2027, emphasizing that the North would have its opportunity to present a candidate in due time.

He recalled the political arrangement that facilitated Tinubu's presidency, highlighting the contributions of former President Muhammadu Buhari and other Northern leaders. Mamman-Lagos dismissed the opposition's influence, particularly from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating they lack the necessary grassroots structure to win elections.

He noted the importance of assessing candidates based on their public service records rather than social media popularity. Additionally, he expressed confidence in Governor Uba Sani's re-election prospects, citing the administration's achievements in various sectors and the critical role of Southern Kaduna in the upcoming elections.
