Nigeria Forward Advocates for Tinubu's Two-Term Completion

Comrade Ibrahim Waiya, the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs and co-convener of Nigeria Forward, spoke in Abuja at the unveiling of the group, which aims to promote national unity, citizen engagement, and continuity in governance ahead of the 2027 general elections. He argued that the North should not seek to reclaim the presidency after just one term under President Bola Tinubu, advocating for allowing him to complete two terms totaling eight years.

Waiya emphasized that this would help consolidate the policies of Tinubu's administration and prevent reopening sectional divisions in Nigeria. He reminded that the North had its eight years under Malam Muhammadu Buhari and suggested fairness by allowing the South to complete its tenure.

This approach, he argued, would keep the North prepared for another round of leadership in the future.
