Mamman-Lagos Urges Northerners to Support Tinubu's Tenure

Hon. Sadiq Mamman-Lagos, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, called on Northerners to permit President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to complete his tenure, asserting that it is the South's turn, especially the South-west, to produce the next president. In an interview on Friday in Kaduna, he urged Northern politicians to refrain from seeking to unseat Tinubu in 2027, emphasizing that the North would have its chance to present a candidate later.

Mamman-Lagos recalled the political arrangement that facilitated Tinubu's presidency, acknowledging the contributions of former President Muhammadu Buhari and other Northern leaders. He dismissed the opposition, particularly the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as lacking the grassroots structure necessary to win elections.

He advised politicians to focus on actual electoral support rather than social media popularity, stressing the significant role of women voters in rural areas. Mamman-Lagos expressed confidence in Governor Uba Sani's re-election, citing the administration's achievements across various sectors.
