NRM's Okereke Vows to Combat Hunger and Insecurity

Dr. Esther Nkem Okereke, the presidential candidate of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), made a commitment on September 29, 2026, to prioritize access to electricity, food security, improved security, and job creation. During the inauguration of the NRM Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections, she stated that her goal is to rescue Nigerians from economic hardship and hopelessness.

Okereke emphasized that Nigeria needs more than just a change of government, insisting on a rescue from darkness, hunger, insecurity, joblessness, and hopelessness. She outlined her vision for a government focused on prosperity, accountability, and national unity, while also stressing the importance of legality, constitutionalism, and the rule of law.

Okereke highlighted the active participation of women, young people, and students in her campaign and pledged to reject intimidation and political violence. She tasked the newly inaugurated campaign council with ensuring disciplined operations and measurable performance.
