Esther Okereke Launches Campaign to Address Nigeria's Issues

Esther Okereke, the presidential candidate of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), pledged to tackle insecurity, hunger, unemployment, and hopelessness in Nigeria if elected in the 2027 general elections. During the inauguration of the party's Presidential Campaign Council on Tuesday, Okereke described the event as the launch of a "rescue team" for the country, emphasizing that the NRM's approach would focus on sharing prosperity rather than merely power.

She stated that the campaign would prioritize structure, evidence, and peace. The campaign council, chaired by Prince Chinedu Obi with Okereke as co-chairman, includes various leadership roles such as Dr Mustapha Umar Kumshe as deputy chairman and Hassan Aminu Ibrahim as secretary.

Okereke outlined the party's principles, including legality, accountability, and the rule of law, and directed the council to operate within a defined chain of command. The NRM aims to leverage Nigeria's resources and youthful population to foster development and improve citizens' lives.
