Franci Onyeama Declares Presidential Bid for 2027

Franci Onyeama, a political scientist, has officially declared his intention to contest for the presidency of Nigeria in 2027. He has reached out to former leaders Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, informing them of his plans through letters.

Onyeama, who hails from Delta State, is associated with the Nation Rescu Movement (NRM) and aims to build a broad support base that includes consultations with traditional rulers and public voices across the country. Notably, he has engaged human rights lawyer Femi Falana as part of his strategy.

His formal declaration is scheduled for March 25, 2026, at an event in Abuja, which is expected to attract significant attention from political observers and stakeholders. In his candidacy, Onyeama intends to focus on the need for political reform and a system that rewards competence rather than monetary influence, presenting a detailed plan titled "Political Class Reformist Solutions" to outline his governance strategy.
