PDP Condemns Ebonyi Governor Nwifuru's Threats to Opposition

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned comments made by Ebonyi State Governor Franci Nwifuru, accusing him of using inflammatory rhetoric against opposition figures. This condemnation came after Nwifuru's remarks during a rally in support of his re-election bid, where he allegedly threatened to destroy opposition elements in the state.

PDP's National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Haruna Moha, described Nwifuru's comments as reckless and indicative of a growing anxiety regarding the political future ahead of the 2027 governorship elections. The party also criticized the governor for failing to deliver meaningful development projects during his three years in office, questioning the impact of N24 billion spent on renovating the state’s airport.

PDP emphasized that the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, is not responsible for Nwifuru's political challenges and called for security agencies and civil society organizations to monitor the situation to prevent escalation of political tensions.
