PDP Condemns Attack on Nworie and Supporters in Ebonyi

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State condemned the attack on Barrister Ifeanyi Nworie, a former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who recently left the ruling party. This incident occurred on Saturday in Idembia, Ezza South Local Government Area.

The PDP also denounced the alleged assaults on Nworie’s supporters and journalists by agents of the APC-led Ebonyi State Government. Chukwuma Igwe, the PDP state chairman, reported that vehicles were damaged and several individuals were assaulted, with eight people currently receiving hospital treatment.

The PDP expressed concerns over threats faced by its members in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections. Igwe called for all security agencies to uphold their constitutional duties to protect citizens and ensure a level playing field for political activities.

The PDP emphasized its commitment to pursuing lawful means to safeguard its members' rights and safety.
