Kwankwaso and Obi Sign Agreement for 2027 Presidency

Rabiu Kwankwaso, a presidential candidate from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), announced during an interview that he and Peter Obi have signed a written agreement regarding the 2027 presidential elections. This agreement commits Obi to serve a four-year term if elected president in the upcoming general elections.

Kwankwaso expressed confidence that Obi would honor this agreement, which includes a provision for power to return to the north after a single term. He clarified that the arrangement is based on the need for equity and fair representation in Nigeria's leadership.

Kwankwaso also mentioned that two separate agreements were signed to formalize their collaboration, emphasizing their commitment to work together for a successful administration from 2027 to 2031. He reiterated that the immediate priority for his party is to secure victory in the 2027 presidential election while also discussing the long-term political objectives.
