Wike's Aide Predicts Easy 2027 Election for Tinubu

Lere Olayinka, the spokesman for Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), asserted that President Bola Tinubu will face a significantly easier battle in the 2027 presidential election compared to 2023. Olayinka attributed this to Tinubu's political alliances and his performance in office, which he believes have strengthened the president's position.

During an appearance on TVC Breakfast, Olayinka noted that Tinubu has successfully brought influential opposition politicians closer to his administration, thereby weakening the opposition. He stated, “This election of 2027 will be a one-way election... it will be much easier for the president than the 2023 election.” Olayinka also mentioned that Wike, despite being a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has chosen to work with Tinubu, which could have otherwise allowed him to mobilize support for the PDP.

He emphasized that Tinubu's openness to collaboration has facilitated both governance and political mobilization.
