Ndukuba Advocates Issue-Based Campaigns for 2027 Elections

Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba, the Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate of All Nigeria (Anglican Communion), called for issue-based campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections, warning that the elections should not be treated as a “do-or-die” affair. He made this statement while speaking to journalists during the 15th Conference of Chancellors, Registrars and Legal Officers (ACRLOC) of the Church of Nigeria at St.

Matthias House in Gudu District, Abuja. Ndukuba stressed the importance of active participation in the democratic process, urging Christians to register with political parties and obtain voter cards.

He highlighted the need for internal democracy within political parties to ensure credible elections. Ndukuba expressed concern over the dominance of political godfathers and money politics, which discourage capable individuals from seeking public office.

He called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to ensure impartiality and accountability in the electoral process. Additionally, he warned youths against being used as political thugs and linked political violence to poverty and unemployment.
