NCPC Boss Advocates Peaceful Electioneering for 2027

Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbit, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), called on politicians to conduct peaceful electioneering as Nigeria approaches the 2027 elections.

His remarks were made during the NCPC's annual general staff retreat held in Nasarawa State, themed "We Will Fight to Give Rest." Adegbit stressed that Nigeria cannot progress without peace and urged all political actors to ensure their campaigns are devoid of character assassination. He also advised religious leaders to be circumspect in their actions, reminding them that they will be held accountable by God.

Additionally, Adegbit noted that the NCPC has airlifted 40,000 pilgrims to the Holy Land over the past two years and expressed optimism for the return of peace in Israel, which would facilitate pilgrimage activities for Christians.
