Kingsley Advocates Issue-Based Campaigns for 2027 Elections

Yakubu Kingsley, a chieftain of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) and a presidential aspirant, called for issue-based campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections. In a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Sunday, following the Independent National Electoral Commission's lifting of the ban on campaigns, Kingsley urged political parties and candidates to avoid personal attacks and divisive rhetoric.

He stressed that campaigns should be an opportunity to present clear and credible policies to address Nigeria's challenges. Kingsley is currently challenging the May 25 PRP primary that nominated Donald Duke as the party's presidential candidate.

He advocated for national unity, rejecting divisive tactics along religious and ethnic lines, and emphasized that crime should not stigmatize entire communities. Kingsley argued that national unity is essential for economic stability and called for improved access to education, healthcare, and infrastructure, alongside the use of technology in governance.
