Queen Amina Declares Candidacy for Benue Senate Seat

Queen Amina, formally known as Hon. Iveren Ukula, has announced her intention to contest for the Benue North-West Senate seat in the 2027 general elections, representing the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

During a rally in Makurdi, she outlined her governance model, which focuses on data-driven decision-making and grassroots consultations. Amina pledged to establish a 90-member advisory council to produce research-based reports that will guide her legislative agenda.

She emphasized the importance of a constituency-driven budget and regular community engagement to ensure that the budget reflects the actual needs of the people. Amina also highlighted her commitment to youth development, promising talent discovery initiatives and local government competitions to expose young people to international sports opportunities.

She rejected the notion of zoning in leadership, asserting that capability should define leadership rather than gender. Amina aims to challenge gender stereotypes and believes that the Senate provides a stronger platform to address pressing issues.
