Kwara NDC Urges Voters to Reject Godfatherism Ahead of 2027

The Kwara State Chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) issued a statement on Saturday, urging residents to reject godfatherism and the imposition of incompetent candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections. Ibraheem Gbagba, representing the party, criticized the current political situation, highlighting the need for credible and competent leadership to address the state's challenges, including poor governance, unemployment, and inadequate infrastructure.

The NDC emphasized that merely changing political parties does not guarantee good governance, advocating for leaders with proven character and capacity to represent the people's desires for a better future. The statement also called for a rejection of anti-democratic practices and stressed that political power belongs to the electorate, not a privileged few.

The NDC aims to prioritize youth empowerment, agriculture, education, healthcare, and business growth while managing public resources transparently. The party enjoys support from notable political figures, including Seriake Dickson, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and encourages collective action for a brighter future for Kwara State.
