US Travellers to Apply Directly for Nigerian Visas

The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has announced that travellers from the United States seeking Nigerian visas will now submit their applications directly to Nigerian diplomatic missions. This change follows the disengagement of the Online Integration Solution (OIS) service, which previously managed visa application submissions on behalf of the Nigerian missions in the U.S.

Effective immediately, applicants must submit their visa applications directly at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington D.C. or the Consulates in New York and Atlanta. DCI Akinsola Akinlabi issued a public notice regarding this transition, assuring that adequate measures are in place to ensure a seamless submission process and issuance of visas despite the changes.

The NIS has not disclosed the reasons for ending the arrangement with OIS, which managed the outsourced visa application process in several U.S. cities, including Houston and Los Angeles. Prospective applicants are encouraged to monitor official communication channels for updates on visa application procedures.
