SDP Uploads Candidates for 2027 Elections to INEC Portal

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) commenced the process of uploading its gubernatorial and state assembly candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal on Saturday, as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections. This initiative follows the successful upload of its presidential candidates.

Araba Rufu Ayenigba, the party's national public secretary, reported that the process is progressing steadily without any challenges, adhering to the timelines provided by INEC. This effort aims to recover from delays experienced during the initial stages of the nomination exercise.

Ayenigba commended INEC for the manner in which the exercise is being conducted and expressed optimism that the commission would maintain a transparent process. He urged SDP members across the country to remain calm and assured that the party is addressing its internal challenges.

The party's national chairman, Professor Abubakar Sadiq Gomb, is actively participating in the ongoing candidate upload exercise.
